Internet Explorer 8 may not be compatible with PeopleSoft Financials. Do not install the update. If the update has already been installed and you can't go back, use Mozilla until testing has been completed.

Which Web browser works for use with PeopleSoft Financials on a Mac computer?
PeopleSoft certifies browsers based on the PeopleTools release, workstation operating system used, and then the browser type and version. This information is from PeopleSoft and is a helpful guideline but not 100% accurate (PS has a disclaimer to that affect). The University currently uses PeopleTools 8.48 with Financials 8.9. Combine that information with a Mac using OS X, and PeopleSoft lists the following as supported browsers:
