Memory

  • Minimum (casual user): 256 MB RAM

  • Minimum (power user): 512 MB RAM

  • Optimal: 1 GB RAM

Processor

  • 1 GHz Pentium or equivalent processor

Screen Resolution

  • VGA controller and a display of 800 x 600 resolution or higher and High Color (16 bit) mode

Recommended Browsers

  • Internet Explorer 7 is the preferred browser on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista, and Windows Server 2003 (do NOT use IE 6 or IE 8)

  • Netscape is the preferred browser on UNIX, Linux, and Mac OS X, although Safari and Mozilla Firefox

Please do NOT use Internet Explorer 8 (it has yet to be certified by PeopleSoft as compatible--October 2009). Major issues have been reported from PeopleSoft users at the University of Minnesota.

Regarding Firefox, although versions 3.x have not yet been certified for use with PeopleSoft, no issues have bee reported by University of Minnesota users (for either the Mac or the Windows versions--both appear to work fine).

  • Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher

Popup Blockers

You will need to disable popup blockers in your browser. Some blockers may be turned off on Windows by right clicking an icon on the system tray, next to where the clock resides. The most recent version of Internet Explorer has a built-in popup blocker that must be configured to allow popups.
